Which is more important when setting up your home theater, the functionality or the design of the home theater? It will be great when we have both, but some electronics don't look nice even though they have good performance when watching a movie.

I don't care about design as much as I do functionality. At the end of the day I'd rather my guests feel comfortable and be able to see a great show. Having a beautiful showpiece just doesn't matter to me.

Functionality wins any day of the week. Who wants a beautiful piece of garbage? I've noticed products that rely heavily on their aesthetics as a selling feature have poor functionality and a slew of angry customers.

At least the three of us are on the same page regarding this matter. On the other hand, It doesn't hurt when the home theater looked cozy for everyone who will watch.
