That's Josh Stippich's web site. Groovy cool stuff to look at, isn't it?

The only probaem I see with Josh, is that he cannot possibly charge enough to support that sort of work.

Fortunately I hear the machine shop is a family business and his valv amp sales do not have to support it. Too bad he does not try PP. The GM100 amp looks to have some mean potential...

Dogulas

The only problem I see is that Josh is 25 years old. How the hell does someone that young achieve that level of craftsmanship? At $22K a pair for the amps, I think that would be a great investment. His work is the stuff of legends.....Colin

PS. Do you ever talk with Pete Millet? I read somewhere that he's playing with an 832 PP (or maybe SE) design. Is this true? I looked around for an 832 design and only found one good link (see below.) Pretty cool looking tube.....Colin

Thanks for the link - love the blue LEDs! Think I'll give that a try when I build my own 829B amps.

The blue LEDs are what caught my eye - very sexy looking. I had a schematic of how he hooked this up, but I cannot find it now. I'll look around some more and see if I can find it......Colin

I'm sure it's run off the filament line, probably with a couple hundred ohms in series.

Pretty close, but there was an extra diode (non-LED) in the mix. I'll still try to find it in case someone is interested.....Colin

Sounds like the designer might be using them to set a fixed voltage, using forward-biased diodes to create a fixed voltage reference for biasing. Maybe they're in a CCS circuit or something like that.
