In the late 70's and early 80's in Britain, and other parts of Europe, there was a big upsurge of popularity for ska music. Ska seemed to originate around Coventry, England, and popular bands were The Specials, Madness, The Selecter, and other groups.
Ska had its origins in 1950's Jamaica, and so the British ska scene of the early eighties was regarded as "second wave" ska.
There has been a third wave of ska, but it seems a lot quieter than the second wave.
I just wondered if this music was popullar in the US as well.
