There's a neat little PDF book called "A Taste of Tubes" at the link below. The first few chapters explain the early history and basic workings of tube amplification. See also the early RCA tube manuals like RC-10. (Google it, you'll find it.) Enjoy. TC

Kane, A few of us are going to build a tube preamp from the schematic in the link below. Come over and introduce yourself and check it out. I promise you I know less about tubes then you, but I figured there's only one way to learn, and that's just build one from scratch. We're going to go through the complete circuit answering the whys-and-hows of tube operation. Even if you decide not to build, please jump in and ask questions. Hope to see you over there.....Colin
