Where would be the ideal place to put speakers in the bedroom for someone who likes to sleep listening to music, on the bedside or ceiling?

As far as positioning of speakers is concerned, they should be lined out so that they play along the length of the room. If we are talking about the bedroom, I'm assuming the ceiling would be okay?
