Is there a legit way of doing this? I have a lot of offline videos but I prefer to have these in PC folder. Sometime back, it was possible to download via IDM but I am not sure if it was legal?

I don't know what you mean.. I always download stuff from Youtube, and I just keep it all in my downloads file. I use Savefrom.net - Is that what you mean?
