I've got some recordings of a lecture that I have to put online, but there's an annoying background hiss from the mic. I was hoping to use Audacity to remove it, but I'm brand new to cleaning up sound tracks. Any hints or tips really needed, thanks!

If you have a clean sound sample, with just the his, you can sample it in Audacity and remove matching sounds using Noise Removal under Tools. A full guide, 'cos I'm not typing one out here!
