I was just watching a movie about a guy who stole and killed to save the one he loved. What would you do to save someone you cared about? Would you lie, cheat, steal or kill if your child or partner was threatened?

Yes. I would do whatever I needed to if it ever came to that. Hopefully it never will, no one WANTS to do any of that, but I would if I had to.
