All the while I was building my ELLA amp, I was listening to A restored ST-70 courtesy of Speakerman. Over about a 2 week period I became very familiar with it's sound. Once I hooked up ELLA, it was obvious that the Dynaco lacked the detail up and down the frequency range of ELLA and had less low end weight. It was warmer sounding but not as "balanced". We later had a shoot-out at Ron's place and the Wave 8's also fell well short.
2 of the most over-rated amps out there, I would say.
