I just upgraded my home theater system and I was wondering if it is better to leave the sound off on the TV? I have a center speaker, a left and right speaker, a subwoofer, and two other side speakers. Will adding the TV sound distort the home theater system's sound?
I guess the best way to ask this is to just ask. If you leave the T.V. sound off, what exactly will be on to where the T.V. will not interfere? Without that information it's kind of hard to answer your question.

You do not need the TV sound if you already have the home theater because you end up getting an echo-like sound. My TV volume is always off, unless I am not using the home theater.

The echo effect is my experience as well, with the tv sound on.

Not only that, but the television speakers are usually low quality. So you have an interference source that is low quality, messing up the sound of your (presumably) high-quality home theater sound system.
