I'm proposing to put a 10K ohm resistor in the Signal+ path, and a 0.47 uf cap after the resistor from the signal+ to signal-. I expect to get a 6db /oct low pass filter with a corner frequency of about 35 Hz.

Can anybody tell me if I'm in the ballpark?

You're right on the money. I'd probably double-check the amp's input impedance to be sure of what I was dealing with. But your first-order filter has the right components for 35Hz.
