I've never come home from a sporting event with my ears ringing (or feeling as if they're 'stuffed with cotton'), only from concerts. I wonder if that's because I've only attended sporting events in open-air stadiums?

What is SPL? I'm not familiar with the term, at least not by acronym. Is that something to do with how sound reverberates, maybe? *Do tell.*

evel. I'm just saying I concerts are usually louder than most sporting events. Drag racing is an exception, of course.
