With what just happened in San Bernadino California, are people more on edge about a terrorist attack happening close to their home? It used to be specifically a middle east thing, now it happened here.

I second that. The only real safety is that there is a huge population and really a rather small part is being harmed. It is horrible that 14 were killed, but when compared to the population it is a minuscule percentage. Being fearful is what the terrorists want. A form of influence disproportionate to their very small minority of followers. I partly blame the media for giving them a way to spread the horror. Social mediums are also IMO a problem as well. They can do a lot more to stop the spread of recruiting info. My two cents....YMMV

People around here are much, much more on edge since San Bernadino. We had two local sheriffs pleading on the news for more people that are licensed to carry to actually carry at all times, and for those who are not licensed to carry to consider becoming licensed.
Terrorists live in a very small world......theirs. In that world they think that killing 2 dozen people within a population of, say, 2 million will instill fear in those 2 million. They fail to realize that people put things like this in context even though the news media plays into the hands of the terrorists.
