I like the Harman-Kardon receivers, for a budget system. If you want separates that are more high end (but not too expensive), check out Selectronics ProFet amps and preamps. Excellent sound, excellent value. That's what I use at trade shows to demo my speakers, so that tells you how highly I think of the ProFet amps.
