I've just seen on another forum that I'm on, this neat little hack. You replace the silicon cups from the in ear earphones with ear plugs.

Take the squashy ear plug and cut it in half, throwing away the smaller end. Poke a hole through the plug, and stretch it over the earphone, that the cup has been removed from. This is the hard part. Then squash it down to put in. You get the most perfect, noise cancelling seal! Yes, I've tried it, it kind of rocked.
