I'm old enough to remember what music sounded like when someone would buy a new album, call me up and play a little of it over the phone for me. I also know what it sounds like to hear the same thing over an I-phone. It's the same quality.
With all of the upgrades to new phones, why can't they put in something that produces higher quality audio?

I think the quality of sound over the phones has gotten better. But you know what the old phones had that new phones don't? That big clunky handset, with plenty of room for a good speaker. And it was big enough to cover your ear and semi- block out other noise. Just my personal theory.
That's a good point. I want an old land-line telephone for Christmas just because. I want it sitting in the living room just as a reminder, and a reference, to how things used to be.
But you're right, there's both good and bad in the new tech.
