I've been enjoying my 2 pi towers for years and I'm starting to consider a new project. What I have in mind is a pair of 4 pi and a pair of 3 pi subs. How does one integrate a pair of 3 pi subs? I did some searching on the forum, but did not find basic instructions. Thanks.

I always suggest flanking subs. See the following posts:

Thank you for the links.

I have 80's vintage stereo receivers. How would I drive the 3 pi sub from a stereo receiver?

Could I use the tape output from a receiver as input to a subwoofer amplifier like this?

You can't use the tape output because it is at a constant level. You need a preamp output, something that has already passed through the volume control.

So I will configure 2 flanking pi 3 subs as Wayne describes.

In my collection of 80's receivers, some have pre out, so that would be an option. I also see that many subwoofer amps have high level input to integrate with mains amps without pre out.

I am planning my next speaker project to be a pair of pi 3 subs from kits.
