what is "jumper" L1 in the Pi 3 crossover? [message #77875]

probably been covered a thousand times, but I'm wondering what that component is? I'm assuming it's not just a piece of wire, which is what I thought a jumper would be, since it's labeled "L1"

It's just a jumper wire. It's there because there is a place on the printed circuit board for an inductor. This wire completes the circuit, in absense of a physical coil.
