Due to a lightning strike actually hitting the house, my speakers are fried on my PC. I'm pretty bummed out about it, but I guess it could be worse.

Well I'm looking to replace my speakers. Anyone got any suggestions on some really good ones?

Hi This kind of depends on your budget. For self powered ones something like the Audioengine A2 ($200 a pair) would be my choice. But there are lots that are cheaper. Creative, Altec, Logitec and so on can be had for anything from about $10 and up. I personally have never found any under about $40 to be worth listening to. I am rather picky myself and even though I seldom do PC audio, I use Polk Audio two ways driven by a vintage Marantz Solid State amp (30 W/ch).

Good Listening

Yes, I definitely wouldn't buy the bottom-priced speakers. You'd get what you paid for. I think I paid $75 for my Logitechs but I don't quite remember.
