I have my own methods for doing this this, like disc and file clean-ups, but what do other people do to keep their computers clean? Are there programs out there you can buy or download that can help but also won't open the backdoor for other things to get in?

I just run Microsoft Security Essentials and Ad-Aware. If I still feel like something is up, I will re-install Windows. It's a drastic option, but it always works. Wink

There are online tools on the official Microsoft website for detecting errors/unnecessary files and then repairing/cleaning all of these. A reliable anti-virus program will help in keeping the 'other things' away while cleaning your computer. Smile
