Hi All, Rodney and I will be there Thursday night. We hope to do most of the set up the same night. By Friday morning for sure. Vinyl and CD/DVD sources. Light jazz to Pink Floyd. Or bring your own music to us. Amps from 5 watts to 45 watts class A per channel. See what our tubes can really do. We look forward to seeing all you good people again.

Good Listening
Bruce

So Bob are you looking for some Green Day, Wallflowers, Linkin Park, Jets, Goo Goo Dolls, Nickleback, etc. Can't help there. I thought that they quit making Rock music some time in the '80's and that everything that came after was just bubble gum pop....Smile

John.

I'll still be bringing some Doors, and Santana, and some Jazz to...

Not sure what all, but will decide when I pack to leave.

See Ya there,
John

Oh, well. I guess that I can always fall back on Pink Floyd. There hasn't been any decent pop music in this century anyway.

See you Friday

Bob

Well, it looks like I'm gonna have to play taxi service to bring the oldest back from college that weekend. May is always a bad month for me.

On a side note and an observation:

If I have to listen to only jazz or classical at an audio show, I'm most likely not going to come. I own some, but it's mood music. I've noticed that when I've asked to play an actual rock or blues CD/album that wasn't on the "approved audiophile" list that there was instantly an aire of tension in the room. Not all rooms, but the majority. Oh, it'll get played, but you can feel the apprehension. I guess I'm more musically spread out than most as I've only found two genre's I usually won't buy, death metal and rap. That, and I refuse to limit myself to just audiophile pressings or uber quality digital. Life's too damn short to be that picky.

I've selected the equipment I'll be taking to the LSAF. It includes a Cambridge Audio Azur 840 CD player, a Parasound P3 preamp, a Belkin power conditioner, OddWatt Audio OddBlock KT88 monoblocks, OddWatt Audio PoddBlock EL84 monoblocks (not pictured), and "The Chairs" full range single driver open back speakers with powered subs. Oh, and I almost forgot, a case of Shiner Bock for psychoacoustic sound enhancement. Very Happy

I'm looking forward to hearing it Fred. I do have a question though, I was under the impression that these were going to be active speakers. When you posted the last set of pictures, I noticed what looked like a crossover filter on the "seat" of the "chair" pictured.

Was I mistaken, or did you only use the active equipment to configure the filter?

Either way, I'm still looking forward to the show....

Thanks,
John

I am bringing a pair of speakers that I designed for Serenity Acoustics. It is their Super-7 model.

Looking forward to meeting you and talking about your preamp that Tony Landry is using. We should be there at around 2 PM Friday.

Cheers
