My nephew is starting to show an interest in drums and percussion, so his mom and I have been thinking about buying him a starter drum set for his birthday next month. Any suggestions?

I don't know much about drums personally, but I did a quick Google search and Amazon has a section of beginner drum sets on their website. They also have some DVDs that would probably be helpful if you guys don't have plans for private lessons.

I would just buy something on Amazon or a music store and I wouldn't sink too much money into it. You never know if his interest will fade quickly. If it doesn't, you can upgrade to a nicer set later.
