I don't know why, but all of a sudden, the sound coming through our home theater system is out of balance. When we play music, the vocals sound as if they are very far away, or almost as if the music is being played through a long tunnel. What could be causing this and how can we fix it?

Have you checked the processor settings? Sounds like you set the processor in a different mode, perhaps by accident. Look for the "sound settings" section of your TV and/or source equipment.
