EGADS! Most of the photos that are supposed to look like the Mayas show people that would not get my attention at poolside. Most likely I would run for cover. Spears and obsidian knives do not make for a friendly pool party.
There isn't a 14th b'ak'tun, is there? Isn't that what all the fuss was about, and why so many people thought the world might end? I wonder if current day Mayans were still using that calender, or if they had already graduated to using the same calender we use?
