I'm thinking about buying some of those fake rocks that are actually speakers that are used for hooking up outdoor systems. I'm doing some landscaping and was debating whether I should do this or not because I do spend a fair amount of time outside.

What do you think?

If you're just looking for some background tunes without ultimate regard to sound quality and something that can blend into the landscape they work great, at least the ones I've heard.

I think this sounds like a neat idea. I've never seen them but am guessing the rocks blend in well. If you like being outside then it's a perfect way to have music without having to carry a portable CD player around.

Yes, they are a good idea, and for the most part look pretty authentic. However, the sound quality is not the best. Then again...what can you really expect from a rock?! Very Happy

How big is your yard? That would make a difference I think in whether you can actually hear it good. You don't really want those small rocks 200 feet away from where you're going to be most of the time, right?

I was thinking about getting some of those rock speakers too, but I want something that actually sounds good. You don't think the sound is high quality?

From what I've seen in ads I can't see the quality of sound being that great. Then again, if you're outside you should only expect background type music coming out of them.
