My boyfriend got me some headphones, the brand name is "Sentry", and while they are comfortable on the ears, the sound is not all that great. Do you have any suggestions for good headphones that won't rape my wallet?

Hi, Help us out a bit - what is your budget and what kind of phones (over ear, closed back, open back, ear buds.....) are you looking for. Then we can probably give some thoughts on what ones might do well for you.
I am looking for something under 10$. I am not looking for those tacky clip on head phones, but over the ears and buds work fine. I just want something that will give quality sound.
If you don't want to spend more than $10, you aren't going to get super high quality headphones. At that price point, I'd just run to Walmart and grab some earbuds in the electronics section.

That is unfortunately true. Some ear buds go on sale from time to time at places like Best Buy. I got a pair of Sennheiser ones for $39 about a year ago. Half price and quite nice for MP3. But for $10..... Not much available anywhere.

Bruce, how do you like your Sennheiser earbuds? I generally like their big headphones but haven't tried their earbuds. I'm still using the cheap buds that came with the mp3 player.

Hi, I have the CX300II buds and really like them. Comfortable, good noise rejection and rather nice sound. I use them with a Sony NWZ-E344 MP3 player. A really good combo. I also have a set of HD280 Silver Sennheisers. Full over the ear phones. Comfortable and quite good. I prefer them when I can use them. The buds are for travel mostly. The big ones stay home. I have several other phones (Koss Pro4AAT is the next best) but feel the Sens have a more realistic sound than any of the others.

Take a look at the Logitech H250. I picked this up for $20 at Best Buy last month. The quality is really good and if you enjoy playing games online, this headset is a cheap option that works. The headset feels great and has adequate padding to keep your ears comfortable at all times. It does have the 3.5 mm input, but that shouldn't be an issue.
Search the Internet and you might even be able to find it cheaper than what Best Buy sells it for!
