Wayne, I would like to upgrade my stock Pi 4 cross overs to the mills resistors, Audence caps and higher quality coils. Can you send me a cost for these components? Is there a printed circuit board available to build these on? I have one pair of speakers. I would also like a price for the B&C upgraded CD. Also, can you send me plans for the Pi 3 subs? I think I received these some time ago, but can't find them in my email. One final thing. What would you consider optimum height for the Pi 4's? I have them spread apart about 10', and toed in. My listening position is back about 8'.

Thanks,
Pfenning

Optimal stand height for four π speakers is 12" to 15" when used with flanking subs. I'll send plans for the subs.

We sell both assembled crossovers and blank, unstuffed PCBs if you want to build them yourself. But we do not sell electronics components or raw drivers individually, only bundled in kits.

OK, I can stuff the boards and solder them, so send me pricing for the kit containing the boards, mills resistors, Audence caps and upgraded coils. I'll watch for the plans.

Thanks,
Pfenning

I am also thinking of upgrading my CD to the B&C DE250. Parts express sells an 8 ohm version. Is that the right one? Do I need any modifications to the cross over to run these? Do they use the same horn as my Eminence, and mount the same?

The DE250 is a bolt-on upgrade, no physical mods required. But it does use different R1/R2 values, so when you're doing the crossover work, be mindful of that. If you order an assembled crossover, make a note of what drivers you'll be using in the order, or we'll contact you to ask. If you build your own, consult the notes on the schematic to know what values to use.

For pricing, see the shopping cart. Upgrade options are shown in drop-down lists, and pricing is shown online:

Is the price for a pair of speakers, or for one speaker?

Prices are for individual speakers. We do that because some people want an odd number, like for home theater.

How much sonic difference is there between the Jantzen and the Auricap? Is there sonic gain to the upgraded coils, or is it for better power handling? What about the sonic difference of the mills resistors compared to stock? Is it easy to hear a difference?

This is my personal opinion of the various upgrades:

Thanks Wayne. I think I will start with the B&C upgrade. Can you send me the cross over schematic for the B&C with the Omega 15? I think I'll just update my existing cross over. Thanks again, I love my 4 Pi's!
