I think I may run with Baltic Birch. I like a real solid box for speakers.

How does Baltic Birch look without a veneer? If you build with it and just sand the finished speaker cabinet and apply a good stain... Does that look good or do you need to run a veneer over it? I know this is probably some opinion type material here... Just curious to hear your opinion on this.
