I just saw on Yahoo! that the state of Connecticut has outlawed the death penalty, claiming it to be "a barbaric and irreversible punishment that does nothing to stop crime nor its victims". This upsets me greatly, as I think capital punishment certainly DOES have a time and a place. If you murder one or more innocent people, you don't deserve to live - period. It's completely senseless to allow serial killers to get the same punishment as the neighborhood drug lord when it comes to prison.
Your thoughts?

I generally agree with you, but I think you have to be very careful with the death penalty too. It would be extremely tragic if an innocent person was executed. I doubt this happens very often, but that's my one problem with the death penalty.
