Answers/comments by numbers:

1. Yes, indeed.

2. We usually use a PVC gasket. You can make them out of cardboard too.

3. I like using T-Nuts and button head screws, which are fastened with an Allen wrench.

4. That big "O" Ring is kinda cool, isn't it? I have several dozen of them because I never use them. I suppose you could, but I prefer to use a PVC gasket, as described above.
