I have found a lot of bands I like, on college stations. Usually the music they play is a lot different from the reruns they play on regular stations. Right now I am trying to get into Pandora. I like the idea of programming my own channels.

Hi A number of college and some commercial stations have HD subcarriers and often the music is a lot higher quality and better content. HD radios are not particularly costly and a true bargain In HD is the Sony XDR-F1HD tuner. They are under $100 and amazing performers. They nearly made the A list in Stereophile about a year ago. Super sensitive and superb sound.
