I have a pair of AKG K240 Studios (55ohm) cans I bought from Sweetwater I think about 10 years ago. Still work like new. I also have a pair of AKG K240M's (600 ohms) that I bought used I've had for nearly aa long. They were most likely from the late 70's to early 80's by my best guess. You aren't going to be running them with an iPod though.

I only use earbuds when I'm working out or working outside. I've never heard a pair yet that didn't sound like crap. Now IEM's are a different matter all together.

I use Skullcandy Ink'd In-Ear Headphones from Target, $16. They drown out sound very well for buds. Plus they have funky skulls on them; can't go wrong with skulls.
