I feel like I grew up with that guy. I was a 6502 guy way back in the 1970s, back when the Apple-II was new. That's the Steve Jobs I remember. Man, what a shame.
Same here, I remember going straight into 6502 Assembly mode (I think it was CALL -151 or some such from Apple BASIC) and just poking around all day myself.
That was really sad to hear, even though we've known that he had cancer for the longest. I think he actually lived longer than the normal person would, but money can only buy you so much....

I had various homebrew 6502 systems, and a single board computer from Synertek called the Sym-1. It was a lot like the Apple II, and magazines and user groups tended to lump Apple-II, Kim-I and Sym-I users together. I still have those computers and a bunch of old techie 6502 magazines, sort of like Byte but specific to the 6502 processors.
