I've never tried this before, but I recently bought a couple of Emotiva Audio's UPA-2 stereo amps while they are on sale for $299 including shipping, and as of yesterday my line arrays are passively bi-amped. I've done some listening, but I haven't done any A/B comparisons to listen for any differences.

Next week while my wife is at work I plan to do some subjective listening and some frequency response measurements using a single amp versus two. I anticipate the frequency response measurements will be identical, but there's always the possibility that separate amps for the woofers and tweeters, seening a different load, might respond differently.
Another test I'm planning is to remove the 5 ohm tweeter attenuation resistor in the tweeter crossover and adjust the tweeter amp's level control to regain flat response. The UPA-2's have a volume potentiometer on the back panel, so this will be an easy test. I'll be listening to hear if the tweeters sound different with no resistor in the signal path.
