Why does radio reception improve at night? I often can hear more distant stations later in the evening and I used to know why but I forgot.

Thank you! Actually, it was much more complicated than I realized; I had forgotten about the ionization layer changing daily, but I hadn't considered all the other factors, like seasonal changes.
