2- 8 ohm dummy loads = 28.50
shipping to Canada = 33.18
taxes + duty
this is crazy
any alternatives to this?

Not there, personally, and depends how fancy and what power you want in a load, but something like these oughta get you started and pcX should be in-country shipping unless I'm way off.

looks like a 5-buck handling fee...so you're $17 + ship for 50W a side.

FWIW. ( no interest, etc. )

Thanks. I wasn't bothered by the price of the resistors, it's all the added payouts. It costs more to get the product than the value of the product. Just seems wrong.

If I paralled a 15 ohm, 50 watt resistor with a 18 ohm, 50 watt resistor would this be an acceptable resistor for an 8 ohm, 100 watt zobel woofer resistor. Or use 2-15 ohm resistors.

Yes, that will work just fine. Understand that the 15Ω resistor will dissipate a little more power, and get a little hotter. If pushed hard, it would fail first. But if both are 50 watt parts, you'll be able to lean on it pretty hard without getting into trouble.

Oh, and by the way - just an FYI - if a Zobel fails, it won't cause the speaker to blow, it will just cause an annoying upper-midrange peak.
