I enjoyed it more than I thought I would but my expectations were pretty low. By the end, I was so annoyed by the characters never using a contraction. The dialogue was a turn off. I guess, it was more closely guided by the book but in my opinion it was a miss.
I thought it was pretty good, too. I just didn't like the ending very much. The actress that portrayed the young girl after she grew up didn't seem the way I would have pictured her as a woman.
