I personally like each machine to do only one thing and do it right. I have an old 35mm camera as well as a digital one just because I like to do things old school too.
Personally, I'll go for a still camera that captures videos. I take pictures more than I shoot videos, so I pay more attention to the camera function than the video capability.
I'm with Doppler. Since most of the time, I take pictures, video capability can be cruder and I'm ok with it. It depends on which is more important to you, iDummy.
Ha! That's a good question. I think if you plan on doing lots of movies, go with the movie camera. But if you just want to do a small video here and there, the camera works best. It is easier to carry around.
Depends. If in your budget, some of the new DSLR's that have come out in the last year have superb video capability. My wifes little Panasonic takes quite good 1080P video for what it is. Great for the occasional video.
