How does everybody feel about the use of classical string instruments in modern rock music? Personally I often love it, but I think I'm a little biased since I've always loved aggressive classical music.

I have loved violins in rock. For some reason, I think it is really intense when someone is playing rock with a violin. However, not everybody can accomplish it.

Roxie, that's exactly how I feel too. I think the violin can be a really intense instrument in the context of rock music, and it surprises me when some of my friends disagree. I know it's not appropriate all the time, but when used correctly, I think it really works.
