Hi All
I'm in the process of having a pair of cabinets built for my 4Pi speakers, and need to know what the correct dimensions would be for the rabbets required to flush mount the drivers. I know that the depth must accommodate a gasket, and the width must allow for a bit of play. I'm using the JBL 2226H and the H290 Horn. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks Wayne. So do I need to add to the woofer OD so that it will seat properly? In other words, If the rabbet is as wide as the woofer OD, will it seat OK? I see the horn is a bit harder to pin down, so I will plan accordingly and leave a little wiggle room.

You definitely do not want a zero tolerance fit when using wood, or even a really tight fit. Give it as least 1/16" extra, and probably better to oversize 1/8". That little gap you leave isn't much.
