I was under the impression this would be a creepy movie which I like. However, it gets very graphic and disturbing. I don't like gore at all and this has a lot of very graphic parts. Plus I found the plot to be strange and difficult to follow.
Unless you like that sort of gratuitous violence and gore without a good storyline, don't waste your money.

The Book was better. I've read it over a dozen times. The movie was very good the first time, enjoyable the second time and I didn't care after that. I saw it in the theater twice. I couldn't even sit through the Director's cut when I downloaded it.
I was glad the movie came out because the Bookstore started stocking the oversized, hardcover edition that was completely digitally recolored.
I actually think the semi animated, single voice actor narrated DVD of the comic is on par with the movie. It is not complete though, they edited out lines here and there.
