I am a huge fan of musical movies. This genre interweaves my two great loves - films and music. If my memory serves me right, Sound of Music started my affair with musical films. My list of favorites include My Fair Lady, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, and Nine.

I've always appreciated the hard work and creativity behind musical movies. It takes an extra effort to merge song and dance performances with the usual streams of scenes and lines delivered by the characters. Smile

I love that you mentioned, including musical theater. I like the music - if you can call it that - in fact The Wizard of Oz .... there is no place like home, and so..index.php?t=getfile&id=343&private=0

My favorite musical movies are the Rodgers and Hammerstein ones (Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific, Sound of Music, King and I). I also loved the ones that Barbra Streisand did.
