I just caught a buyout at Parts Express for 1" long spikes with 1/4-20 studs for 48 cents each. They're black anodised and have flats for wrenching. Nice.

They look great, Bill. Thanks for the link.
Currently using 3 X arrow field points screwed into arrow inserts. The PE spikes are a little bit lower in height for the 7 Pi, which would be better.
