They mention you need a subwoofer, but come on, 20-300hz in mono is horrible. Subs require crossing over with the mains too. You can't brick wall the main speakers low frequencies and simply replace them with a sub. You gotta roll off the lower two octaves at -6 to -12 per octave.

I think sometimes vanity products muddy the water. Meaning someone gets something that is priced to be impressive or looks the part.

These things are a non-option for audio minded folks. They are for the people obsessed with home decor.

They make audiophile grade speakers made of glass if you really want the look. [thumbs through stereophile] a company called Crystal Cable makes a speaker called the Arabesque. Considering the source, the speakers are probably more expensive than a car though.
