I love them! Thanks Wayne for all your help. I upgraded the crossover, wiring and added speaker bracing as prescribed. I also added the T90 at 18k and they sound wonderful. Powered by either my 5 SET amps, or my class D amp produce equally amazing result. My Orions and BIB are lonely as you can see. Godspeed.

Welcome to the world of uniform directivity and thanks for posting the photo!

Have you tried crossing their forward axes, toeing them inward like described in the posts below?

HI Wayne. Thanks. I will try the positioning tonight. Even now though, the speakers are disappearing. Godspeed.

Crossing their axes in front of the listener isn't a requirement for good imaging in all cases, but in room layouts like yours, it's perfect.

Dear Doc JR 8156! This is very nice setup! But I have a question: the bass reflex port isn't too small?

As I see, your room's size same as mine, have you tried driving with 45 triode SE? If yes, the power is enough?
Thanks for help!

They look terrific, as does your listening room. Let us know your impressions once you toe them in.

Hi Feket, Thanks a lot. I don't have a 45 amp but one of my SE amp is producing 4 watts of power only and I had no issue.

The cabinet was not built by me. My ports are a little smaller than the plan prescribed but shorter.

Psychoacoustic, I tried toeing them in last night and they sounded better. The sweet spot is now much, much wider. Even I sit on a point favoring one speaker, I can still hear the other one! Godspeed.

Hi Doc, how would you compare the Pi's to the Orions?

Hi Shane,
Truthfully, I haven't done that yet. Since my PI 4s came, never bother to set the Orions up. My Orions have the latest revision, 3.2.1 too. One of this days, I will compare them but from memory, the Orions really sounded different from any other speakers I heard and own specially the bass representation. If I remember correctly, the Orions have a more forward mids too. The Pi 4s however, have that special timbre that is very pleasing to my ears. Like the Orions, the Pi 4 have no room boundaries when listening closed eyed. I was also happy that the PI 4s are not picky on amp selection hence I can used all of my 7 amps. What fun it is to listen to different tubes, vintage, SS, and class D amps. I am also looking forward on trying my 5 vintage receivers on my Pis. You cannot do such on the Orions. Very Happy Godspeed.

Nice rig and the 4Pi look great. I've got the parts (B&C/JBL) and xovers built, one of these days I'll get around to the cabs.

I had a pair 3Pi and thought about adding the T90 for a bit of top end sparkle, giving that I liked what it did for the Madisound BK-16 kit. How did you go about crossing them with the 4Pi and adjusting the level?
