Illuminati (13th Degree)
You know she is a funny bird. She writes all her own stuff. On the earlier albums you would get moments of absolute brilliance; James and The Cold Gun, All We Ever Want. Then there will be moments of absolute bad. Just whining and screeching. But eeven in those songs there might be a break that is gorgeous. Later she became a little too pop-synth for me and I stopped listening. But I still put Army Dreamers on and Them Heavy People. Under Ice and Cloudbusting are good songs.
I think Lionheart was p[robably her best and most accomplished album. It is more about song craft and less derivitive than the later efforts.
Hounds of Love is the album I would get if I wanted to sample her current efforts.

Ms Bush is certainly a very original artist, and a looker, too. Despite the obvious advantages she'd have had in the 'pop princess' department, she always stuck to what she believed in - that calls for respect!
