My Grandfather built all sorts of electronic kits....ham radios that still worked 40 years later
Heathkit audio amps that still worked 40 years later, three keyboard monstrous electric organ that worked for till we sold it. There is lots of gear, homebuilt and kits, out there from the 1950's that still works. They might need some updated on some of the capacitors and resistors at this point, but many will power up and work fairly good.
