I'm planning on going on a trip this summer and I'm looking for a GPS unit so I don't get lost. What units are the best for a person who is on a budget?

It really depends upon what you want. The Garmin nĂ¼vi 760 is the best selling system but I don't know if that means it's the best for you. The next two in line are the Magellan RoadMate 1200 and the TomTom One XL-S according to Squidoo.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Magellan but just wasn't sure how good it was. It's good to know that it's in the top three.

I have the Magellan GPS. It works great! I have never had any problems with it and have always had great directions. I would suggest this brand to anybody.

It really depends on what you are looking for and the functionality that you require. Different price classes have different 'best' options to choose from. I would recommend TomTom though. It has a very easy user interface.
