I hope there isnt another thread for this. I searched and found nada.
I just picked up a 98% condition TO b600. Cover is dirty but good. No nests inside. Wiring looks great. Wave magnet line is fine.
For $15
Kicker is...dont work.
tuner is stuck.
Power tube lights but thats it.
I need to remove the chassis to check for caps underneath.
I'm obviously too stupid to figure it out and I'm pretty mechanically inclined.
Any hints?
Thanks for your time!

Oh, man, did you score! TransOceanics always go for at least a hundred bucks, in good shape over $200, sometimes more.
These are pretty easy to work on. Open up the back and you'll see the chassis. There are screws on the bottom, and after they're out, the chassis slides right out. Be careful of the antenna connection though.
I agree with you about the caps. Replace 'em as a matter of good measure. Then check all the tubes. I usually buy a set for every radio I have even if it works, just for a backup set. In your case, you may need to replace a tube or two to get it working.
