Agreed! The scene at the end, in which the deaf Beethoven is prompted to turn to the audience after completing conducting his Ninth, is magnificent.

I'm recalling some of that floating imagery at the end
now. I saw this one in the theatre but wasn't really thinking
about the sound quality. I recall that the episodes in
B's life were mirrored in the selections played to a very
good effect.
